There are many things in life you can plan for. One thing you can never plan for is cancer. I know this is something my Dad never planned for. My family was heartbroken when my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer but even while consumed in sadness; my Mom was our beaming light of hope. She always told us that cancer is life altering but it is not defining. Through her we witnessed that cancer cannot cripple love, faith, or courage. Even with her strong will to stay positive for my Dad, we could see the hardship she had to face as his caregiver throughout his continuous battle. I would love for someone to help ease the pain that cancer has cause not only to my family but especially to my Mom. What I love most is my family, so there is no doubt in my mind that if I could provide the service of helping relieve caregiver stress, I would do it for the rest of my life. I would work on providing relief and unlimited amounts of support for cancer care givers such as organizing rides from cancer treatment centers to the homes of patients, providing meals during appointments, and helping to relieve the financial burden of medical costs. These services will be possible by fundraising and partnerships with companies to donate funds and services as a way to give back to the community’s hurting members.
