Since birth I have been a fish; I even jumped into a pool before I knew how to swim. Luckily for me, my parents were right there to take me out of the water but for some children and adults are not as fortunate. My dream job is teaching swim lessons. I have been teaching swim lessons for six years and have fallen in love with it.
Living in Southern California, all too often I hear of people drowning in pools, lakes, and oceans. By teaching swim lessons, I could give people the skills they need to survive in an aquatic emergency, not to mention the additional luxury of being able to enjoy oneself in the water. By teaching swim lessons, I can also teach the importance of water safety and knowing how to swim, which they can pass on to their friends and families.
Making my dream a reality would require of me to set three specific goals. Goal one is to get higher certifications in teaching, which would help me to be more qualified. Goal two is to finish my education in child development in order to better understand how children learn process information. My third goal is to own a house with a pool so that I could teach private lessons in child-friendly and completely safe environment.
Teaching swim lessons is my dream job and I know that I could make the world a much safer place in and around water.
