I have been asked this question many times, and I have had the answer in mind since I was seven years old. My dream is to be an elementary teacher. Even though they do not make the most money, I have treasured children and education all of my life. I want to be someone for children to lean on, talk to, and look up to. My senior year of high school, my AP literature teacher was amazing. She was very involved in what she was teaching, and loved her students whole-heartedly. She has won the Teacher of the Year award the past three years. My goal is to be just like her. I want my students to trust in me and see that I care about each and every one of them. I also want them to understand how important it is to learn new subjects and information, and how it is a gift that they are able to attend school and receive an education. I will thrive to be the teacher that everyone talks about and loves. My career may not change the world, but it will certainly change mine and my students’ worlds, and to me, that is what matters most.
