What I love the most as a profession is teaching! There is no comparison to helping get through to a student. When it clicks, it just feels indescribable!!! I have an enthusiasm for learning, and I feel that it is contagious. The challenge is getting through to every student. I honestly feel that is how to change the world. If you can mentor, tutor, or teach a child something new, that has opened up more opportunities for him or her. It doesn’t matter if it is something small like tying their shoe, or something big like Physics; either way, it has opened the door for not only more learning, but also encouragement of continuing to learn. Students don’t respond well to disappointment. I know because I am a full-time college senior and a mother of four school-aged children. However, if you show that same child how to, most of the time they do. Teachers shape the world, and I cannot wait until I am molding young minds into college-bound or career-bound young women and men. I am currently seeking my BS in Early Childhood Education, so I can give attention to younger children, and help build the foundation for their life’s journey. My specific goals are to finish my degree, graduate, and become a teacher in a public classroom. I am only two semesters away from completing my degree and graduating. My cumulative GPA is 3.9, so I am pretty confident I will finish and graduate in May of 2015.
