At the time I was four, when other little girls my age were asking for dolls and dresses for Christmas, I was asking for a stethoscope and a lab coat. Becoming a doctor has been my dream job since before I could even remember. Never did I have the inclination to become a soccer stud or a pop star because I wanted to do something with my life that would provide a greater impact on the world we all live in. Doctors change the world every day. They provide relief to ailing families, give time to those that do not have any, and supply hope to the hopeless. In my opinion, doctors are modern day superheroes. The lives that they touch are so great and everlasting. One day I would like to travel to a country that isn’t as fortunate as the United States is, and give care to those who need it the most. Being able to provide for children, moms, dads, grandparents that feel as if no one will ever help, would be the single most rewarding aspect of my job. I want to increase the life expectancy or lifetimes of the living and I want to do my part to improve living standards in third world countries. Waking up every morning knowing that I get the chance to change someone’s life, is the greatest motivation that this world could ever offer.
