I thought my dream job was to become a pediatrician because I have always loved kids and helping others. To impact an individual’s life in a beneficial way is what I want to do and with the help of interning at the hospital I learned that I did not have to work as a doctor to achieve that. I could still have an impact on a person’s life in a positive way and earn a living with out being a doctor but by being a health educator. The ability to improve the health of others and encouraging people to make good healthy life choices is all I could ask for. It provides me with a sense of achievement by tackling the problem of keeping people out of the hospital, with preventative community approaches. I’d like to start by volunteering in programs that send me across the globe to educate others about health. For example, educating about vaccines in order to stop major diseases that might not be a huge issue in the US. I want to see how implementing public health programs into communities and educating people would benefit the individual. Not only just treating one person, but affecting a whole group of different people in the community and worldwide. I would like to see a world in the future where every one is healthy and for the 6.2 billion people around the world to know how to make smart healthy choices because they have been taught how to.
