Looking ahead to my college career, I plan to major in Music Business and minor in Jazz Vocal Performance. My dream is to be the next Ne-Yo/Ella Fitzgerald. Ne-Yo inspires me with his singing, songwriting, and owning his own record label. He lives the life that I one day hope to pursue. If starting my own company does not work out, I would love to hold an A&R position at Atlantic Records and soon work my way up the ladder within 3 years. An A&R position is someone who searches for new talent for the record company because many are always looking for new talent. On the flip side, Ella Fitzgerald inspires me with her voice; her music has sold over 40 million albums. She is the First Lady of Jazz. Making music and hoping to reach the amount of success that Ella has made for herself is a goal that I plan to reach. My focus to possess a summer internship in Music Business world, learning about record labels and how to run them, while at the same time singing as much as I can. Which goes hand in hand with writing my own music. Pursuing a major in Music Business and minor in Jazz vocal performance, will prepare me for either career path within music. I can easily see myself being happy with either choice. These are some of the major accomplishments that I would like to strive for to be successful.
