I applied to college as an International Business Major because I was focused on the money. After taking a few classes I realized that I couldn’t see myself sitting behind a desk and crunching numbers all day. At this time I decided to take a few introductory classes and here is where I found my passion: social work. In taking my social work classes I have learned that I can not change everyone but I can make a difference by helping those who want to be helped. It has been told to me plenty of time that if you want to make money this isn’t the field for you. But I have learned over the past two years that when you do what you love the money makes no difference. In doing internships and going into my senior year of undergrad, I have been enthused just to see the faces of my clients and to see the positive impact that I make on their lives. I want to get through my senior year of undergrad and become a school social worker. A school social worker is what helped me to get through middle and high school and I want to be that social worker for other students.
