I have always had a soft spot for animals and the environment. I’m a college sophomore and last year I had come majoring in the field of biology, hoping to be a Physician Assistant. As it turns out, I am not very good at biology. After this revelation I realized I had to find something new that I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I considered an Environmental Science degree, but that felt too insecure for me. Now my goal is a Communication and Environmental Science double major. With this I plan to specialize in advertisement and public relations. Eventually I plan on working for companies that promote my ideals like Lush, who actively contest against animal fighting.
A degree in advertisement and public relations is generally not thought of as a very moral profession, but I hope to make it just that for me. Through working to promote companies that operate toward environmentally friendly goals, I hope to change and inspire the world. I don’t believe that I will have a problem with sticking toward my goal. Realizing that I wasn’t good at biology really led me to do some soul searching and find what I really wanted to do. I had decided to be a Physician Assistant for the money and job security, while my true passion has always been a love of nature. I hope to make companies environmentally friendly, help to promote those that already are, and be proud of what I do.
