I use to think I had a porcelain heart. I wondered if there was an end to how many times it could be broken and repaired before it became incorrigible. At the fragile end of this beautiful mess I found strength to begin to repair my heart. Not just temporary fixes, but refined; as though sculpted in a new and amazing way. Stronger and more valuable than ever before.
I see it often and speak with many young women who are attempting to repair their brokenness with things that they fully believe will make their hearts whole – only to realize it took them further away from being complete. By then the situation feels helpless and hopeless.
Lack of a healthy self-love, self knowledge and self-control, especially in regard to our feelings and emotions, is a barrier for women I want to obliterate. My goal is to speak truth into the lies that have been incorrectly defining our self-images and our choices for years. Through my past experiences and the education I will receive, I plan on giving women the tools to heal past hurts and master their feelings and emotions to ultimately lead to healthier life choices. I would like to personally encourage women by speaking in schools, group homes, shelters and churches. I also have plans to design an infographic book called Princess Refined, which I have already started to create.
Like many, I had a rough start in life but am determined to have a victorious finish.
