If I could earn a living doing what I love the most then I would start my own nonprofit business so my staff, volunteers and I could help towns and cities all over the world to establish their own community gardens. My nonprofit would also serve individuals and families by giving them the necessary tools and information to begin their own home gardens, via garden starter kits mailed directly to their homes, thus helping people to lead a more satisfying and self-sustainable lifestyle. To make this dream a reality I am starting now by working towards my first goal of earning a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish. While attending Central Michigan University for this degree I am also taking classes in nonprofit business and leadership. I am currently the Co-President of Campus Grow, a gardening club on CMU’s campus and continue to learn from this position every day. My next goal to bring my plans closer to becoming a reality is to serve for two years in the environmental section of the Peace Corp. I think this would give me great experience in the field and boost my ability to form a business around that type of work. I would feel as though I was not working a single day of my life if I could earn a living physically helping others around the world to turn the dirt surrounding them into a means of leading a happy, healthy and self-sustainable life.
