In a world where the sky is the limit and dreams are meant to come alive, it is a mystery why there are still so many who fear flying. The dream to fly became a reality at the age of 14, when provided the opportunity to participate in a flight lesson for the first time. While some thought it insane for parents to allow a child who has yet to obtain a drivers license to fly an airplane, this maiden voyage made a mere dream a breathtaking reality. The history of aviation and flight has embossed society, both personally and professionally. Aviation brings families together, provides orphaned children a home, offers opportunities for humanitarian efforts across the world and allows business and political face-to-face transactions in hours. Aviation has enhanced military efforts and increased medical options and opportunities. While it would be impossible to fly without the evolution of technology, it is also technology that inhibits people the possibility to utilize all five senses to experience the world. Aviation provides the opportunity for people to be almost anywhere and experience the wonders of other communities, places and cultures. Aviation provides a place to see the sky meet the land and water connect the continents. This career will collide a dream and reality and will be utilized to provide unity for families, friends, organizations and humanitarian efforts. When the time comes to enter the clear blue skies it will be with great enthusiasm, vigilance and humility.
