If there’s anything the people in my area know about me, it’s that I love helping people, especially children. It started two years ago when I decided on a whim to intern at a local daycare, later turning into me deciding to go to college to become an elementary school teacher with literacy certification. However, if I could teach children while also travelling the world and embracing photography, I would. I think the Earth is vast and beautiful, and I can’t imagine spending the majority of my adult life in the same place. I would love to travel and teach children how to read. Reading opens one up to an incredible world of knowledge and imagination, and in some places it is a privilege. Continuing, I have always adored the idea of using pictures as a way to record memories. I plan on taking photos of my travels and maybe even starting a photo blog. But more importantly, I can open children up to the world of art through photography, staring with the basic instant disposable cameras (they’re very handy!). I can truly see myself holding a basic literacy and photography class for kids abroad and maybe even opening up small centers to do so. Kids are the future, and by inspiring even a few, those few can inspire many and allow for a cycle of positivity to continue. When I start college this fall, I will not only be starting my career, but hopefully a future of brightness.
