Being outdoors has always been my favorite place to be. Some of my hobbies include rock climbing, tennis, snowboarding, hiking, kayaking, yoga, wake boarding, fishing and slack line walking. I like to spend my free time outside, in the woods.
I’m not sure what job combines all my hobbies, but if it were out there, that would be my dream career. Unfortunately, being an instructor these things do not pay the bills. That is why I am majoring in Finance.
I could change the world by creating a non-profit program that helped children get outside and find their favorite outdoor activity. Today, less and less kids are spending time outside. Kids NEED to play! They need two or more hours of play a day to promote a healthy body and mind.
If the program catches on, I hope for it to not only improve childhood health, but adults’ health too. That would only work if the kid’s new found hobbies stuck with them into adulthood. The increased outdoor activity can promote heart health, reduce obesity, lower stress levels/blood pressure, and made happier people, worldwide. Who knows, maybe even world peace.
