Even as a child, even if I was not wealthy or had much, I always knew there were children who had a lot less than I did. I didn’t always have the best clothes or the latest technology, but I never had to experience going to bed hungry. Children in foreign countries have always been an issue that to me, personally, because our world is hurting and so many children are suffering.
If I could do anything that allowed me to have financial freedom and do something for this world, it would be to travel around the world sharing the love of God with everyone I could. To feed, clothe and give hope. As a leader of my youth group, when I was 17 years old, I had the opportunity to travel to Mexico and meet amazing children who didn’t know what they were going to have for dinner that night. I realized, if I get hungry, and my mother wasn’t around to cook, it was as easy as pressing a microwave button to be fed. These children live in such a simple way. I still remember their amazement when discovering a juice box. It breaks my heart. I wish so much I could do more.
I am one person; no one special. I am simply someone that wants more for these people in pain. Being wealthy is something I wish I could be for the right reasons, so I can be able to give back.
