If I could have any job in the world and earn a great living doing it, I would choose Dental Hygiene. I choose Dental Hygiene, because not only is it a great career choice financially, but is something I have wanted to do since I was a child. Being a Dental Hygienist has been a long time goal for me and I am very proud to finally have been accepted after many years of hard work. Choosing Dental Hygiene as my career will not only provide a better life for my daughter and I but, I also believe the Dental field can help change the world in several ways. While lack of medical care and living standards in developing countries is a major problem, proper dental care is hardly thought of. Proper dental hygiene is often unknown to most to be the source of major issues that can lead to even bigger issues. These issues can include heart disease, stroke, severe diabetes mellitus, and many more life threatening conditions. It is my goal to become a Dental Hygienist and travel to developing countries and provide free Dental Hygiene education and care. When I leave these countries, I hope to have instilled the importance of preventative care so it can be taught early on in an attempt to avoid major health issues. I hope to provide each patient with their own tooth brush; tooth paste, floss, and mouth wash to assist them on their path to a healthy and beautiful smile.
