There are children that need extra help, but often get overlooked. They end up falling through the cracks and getting lost in the system. They are unable to speak for themselves, so they need someone to speak for them. Children with Autism can succeed with the right person there to help them.
I am currently earning my degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. I would love to help children with Autism learn how to thrive. I want to teach them how to better cope with their social emotional skills, language skills, and life skills. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a child succeed, especially when they are faced with bigger challenges than average children.
My passion comes from seeing my own daughter succeed. She was diagnosed with severe anxiety. It disrupted many aspects of her life. Sleep was one of them, and she never slept more than three hours a day. Her therapist worked with her, and it was not easy for her at all. Then one night she was finally able to have control over her anxiety and sleep through the night. I woke up that more and just cried. They were happy tears. I finally had hope for her. I want to give same feeling of hope to other families. I want to change the world one family at a time.
