Every experience I had within the hospital or with the other nurses have been moments I will never forget. Pursuing my career in the medical field has been a familiarity on its own, but by meeting and being involved with people that share my same passion has made my journey all the more exciting and valuable. Helping people has been a passion of mine since day one, no better career to choose than to become a nurse. Every opportunity I have had to expose myself more into the nursing world, I took. I participated in a five day long Nurse Camp, my sophomore year in high school. The camp allowed the selected fifty students to get hands on experience with all equipment that is used within the hospital and learn how the nurses deal with any situation that comes through the doors. Ever since that year I have been actively involved within the hospital, such as, volunteering every weekend my senior year and getting the chance to shadow a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse and a Labor and Delivery nurse. I was sure to apply for colleges that had a nursing program. Being able to save a number of lives every day is a reward of its own. Many people don’t have enough hope in their lives and automatically dreads going into a hospital, nurses are to give light back into the patients. If you love what you do, then you never work a day in your life.
