As a teenager I had the opportunity to live in a third-world country. The exposure to the poverty and the need for help created in me a passion for serving those who were suffering. I was able to accompany a nurse who worked in one of the most impoverished areas in the capital city and I was profoundly impacted by the need for the care she provided. I determined then that I would someday also take the time to give this sort of time to others.
Years later, I have my own family and seven children. I am returning to school so that I can become a nurse and take those skills and my own children to another country to make a difference. My two passions in life are educating my children to not only knowledge but its application in our world, and nursing. I believe that I have found my calling as I pursue a career in the medical field. I can’t wait to see what is ahead of me as I try to cultivate both of these visions.
