My Goal: Pediatrician

I wanted to be a pediatrician ever since I was 14 years old. Children are cheerful and I love interacting with them since they are my favorite age group. I would love to help children every day of my life.
My family is from northern California and I would like to live and work near my hometown. Also, there are many Mien speakers who live in this specific area of California. Mien is my language and culture. I would love for my language to be a part of my career. I can easily speak to mien patients if I work in northern California. Mien patients usually do not know English, therefore I can help them by being able to easily communicate with them.
My education will be completed 11 years after high school, consisting of 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 3 years of residency. After my education is completed and I have started my career, I will devote my life to treating children. What I wish to do is work at a hospital but also volunteer my time to a homeless shelter. I have volunteered with a doctor at a clinic that treats homeless and low income patients. She never turned them away because of financial status. I believe this what all doctors should do. They should love their occupation and be willing to treat patients for little to no money. Seeing this from a doctor motivates me to do the same.
