My dream is to become a registered nurse. Nurses play a major role in the lives of patients. Their job is to provide medications, assist in diagnosis, and monitor the hospital. Most importantly, they are the source of communication with the patients. They advocate a healthy life. Generally, nurses attend to patient’s needs, act as support systems, and a group of them together will watch over the patient twenty-fours a day. They’re job is to prevent sickness and help patients recover from sickness and injuries. They will educate, give advice, and provide support at the end of the day. They provide top quality care for those who are sick and to those who are towards the end of their life. From recording the patient’s progress to cleaning bed pans, they do the most for the happiness and health of a patient. Often times, they are tasked with difficult decisions and forced to intervene in order to save lives. In sad times, they will provide emotional and mental support to the patient and their families. They always will put on a friendly face, provide the strength to deal with obstacles, and provide reassurance even when they aren’t having their best day. Their type of care doesn’t compare to any other profession. To make this dream a reality, I intend to go to college for 4 years to get my bachelor degree in nursing. After obtaining my degree, I will take the NCLEX exam to practice nursing.
