I have always known when I grow up I wanted to be in the health field where I can help people. I thought I would be a nurse, therapist, or even a doctored. I did not know what I wanted to actually do until college. Then an advisor introduced me to speech pathology. Ever since I was introduced I was hooked on the idea of being a speech pathologist. Later in college I decided exactly what I wanted to do with my future. I know I love our veterans and I want to help our service members and their families with whatever I can do.
In order to do what I want with my life I knew I had to incorporate being a speech pathologist while helping the government and their military with speech problems. I hope to get my master’s in speech pathology then go on to apply and approved to be in the U. S. Public Health Service. I want to be a part of the military so I can help out service members as well as serve the country I grew up in and love.
I know this process will not be easy but I am looking forward to the challenge. I have never had a life where things were just handed to me. I always had to fight and work hard for anything I believed in. That is how I am going to reach this goal, even with all of the stress in my life.
