My dream has always been to own a business. I have dreamed of it since I was a girl watching my parents run their contracting business. As I have grown older, I have decided I want to own an antique/handmade boutique. I love antiques and anything that has been handmade. The items have history, a story, and uniqueness. I cannot imagine a better job than bringing these wonderful items together with people who will appreciate and enjoy them.
My plan currently includes majoring in business at Biola University and owning my own Etsy shop. I also study everything I can about antiques and boutique stores. I love to read books about them, travel to antique shows/stores, and work in my Etsy store. They have provided invaluable information on how to own and run a business. I just began my Etsy store, selling handmade lace jewelry. It has shown me so much, especially about networking and using social media. This scholarship would help pay for my tuition at Biola, and to help start my small business.
I will have to work extremely hard to be able to make my dream possible and I cannot wait for the opportunity. I was able to become Valedictorian of my high school, and an honor roll student through my hard work in the past. I hope my hard work and determination will be able to help me achieve my dreams and the opportunity to own my business.
