If I could do anything and earn a living for it, I would make music. I love producing rap/hip-hop/r&b music and writing lyrics. I do believe music can have a worldwide range and effect on people.
I know my music wouldn’t end world hunger or poverty but I would love to be able to make music that can do what music has done for me. What I mean is, in my eyes as an artist, music is art and art should invoke emotion. Music has helped me cope with hardships in my life. Personally, music has been a medicine. It’s almost indescribable for me.
Imagine, a boy heartbroken over a girl, feeling alone, betrayed, and hopeless. He is young and ignorant to love. He is suffering from heartbreak. Something we will all one day have to overcome. He listens to Kanye West’s 808′s & Heartbreak album. He feels the man’s emotion through the music, he can relate. He realizes something.
From the words and feeling the emotion, he realizes he isn’t alone and his situation is one many have felt. He, from the music, realizes he can live and move forward.
It’s obvious who this boy is or was, I should say, but the point is, music is something that may help people relate and know they aren’t so different and with the right words and sound, I would aim to help people overcome hardships they are faced with. That may be heartbreak or any other human problem.
