As a child, the toys that I treasured most were the ones that I could use to design and build my own inventions. As I grew older, the careers that I dreamed of changed constantly. But there was one thing they all had in common: my love for inventing. Now, as a young adult the job I dream of being paid for is a mechanical engineer. Ultimately I want to help create machines to revolutionize modern medicine for the better. When most people think of medicine, they don’t think of the mechanical aspect of it. But, someone had to invent devices like the syringe or the MRI machine. My goals set for making this dream into a reality are as follows; I plan to obtain internships during my time at Michigan Tech, get involved in organizations at school such as Engineers without Borders, Graduate with my Bachelor’s Degree with at least a 3.5 GPA, and obtain a job working with hospitals. I know that this could take years, I also know that it would be worth being able to help people.
