If I could make a living doing what I love then I believe the world would definitely be a better place. That is due to my passion which is criminal justice, this just so happens to be my major at Florida Atlantic University, more specifically helping educate and combat white collar crime, which is crime that does not technically involve violence rather falls into the category of financial crime. Every day on the news people hear about conventional crime (robbery, burglary, and murder) however white collar crime is more destructive to the nation and world causing billions in dollars.
I would love to travel to different law enforcement agencies across the world and United States educating the men and women of that agency about white collar crime and how to stop it. I would also like to travel to universities and educate the future generations and try to build knowledge of how important white collar crime is. It is a topic which is often put to the side of more “exciting” crime such as drugs and violence, however look at the most famous modern white collar criminal Bernie Madoff and how much damage he caused.
I believe if I could make a living traveling and meeting different law enforcement officials and informing them about the importance of white collar crime then the world will be a better place. White collar crime is a wide array of crime which affects more people than congenital crime, and causing billions of dollars of damage. If more agencies were informed of this type of crime and how to stop as well as a younger group of students taking an interest in the topic than a great amount of progress can be made in combating this interesting yet disturbing topic.
