One of the many programs I truly connected with was called “BUILD” an academic and professional led community based organization that took inner city youth and taught them the basics of operating a business. This passion for the business world is still with me today but, it was not until I traveled abroad where I truly realized what career I wanted to obtain. During our trip in Nicaragua I was afforded the opportunity to speak with various business leaders. They explained to me the many tribulations they’ve encountered and are still facing today dealing with U.S corporations undermining and defecting their businesses. Their hardship and struggles have inspired me to be much more than another business mogul, but rather be a true and constant participant with the intent to inspire change and develop potential growth within international businesses. That is why I will be majoring in International Business with an emphasis in Marketing. The ultimate goal upon attaining this major is to help future corporate businesses properly market and maintain a stable, and fair relationship with their potential partners. By strengthening the ties between the businesses we are also creating a healthier relationship with the host nation that could prove to be vital to both countries economic and social status. In this day and age America is seen as a country based upon greed and lack of empathy. This perception can be changed with corporate philanthropy, understanding cultural implications and the desire of sheer compassion.
