What I love most is the ocean, and all the marine life. I’ve had a love for the ocean from such a long age. I always did school projects that revolved around the ocean in someway, from 3rd grade all the way to junior year. Sharks have always interested me. Watching Shark Week, Jaws, and documentaries through the years, with my mom has just strengthened my love for sharks and the ocean.

I will be attending The University of the Virgin Islands, in the Caribbean, to study Marine Biology, and become a marine biologist. I had planned on going to the University of Hawaii at Manoa, but after a very hard decision, I choose UVI. After finishing my four years at UVI, I plan to go to UH or any other top notch Marine Biology School I decide to go to, to get my doctorates degree since UVI doesn’t offer doctorates. My goal is to help stop shark finning, and save the shark populations that are drastically depleting. The importance of the ocean and marine life is underappreciated and has gone unnoticed. If it goes unnoticed for any longer we will have killed off another species, that will ruin the oceanic food chain, and who else knows what.

We need to save the sharks, and if no one else does, I plan to.
