Wanting to help people is what my dream really boils down to. I am going to college to pursue being a physical therapist. The thought of getting people back to a physical condition to where they can do what they love really drives me. My whole life I have been surrounded by sports because of my siblings and my enthusiasm to stay active. In high school my brother would sustain injuries that stopped him from playing football for a while. Seeing how he struggled with not being able to play really stuck with me, but what stays with me even more is how hard he worked to get back to where he needed to be to play again. Now I just want to figure out better ways to help people rehabilitate. I know you can not rush the bodies healing process, but I feel there are ways that have yet to be thought about that could help the healing of a person’s body go even a little faster. Also if possible, I would like to help invent more realistic, possibly more affordable, prosthetics for people who lose limbs. I know if I really want to make a difference I need to learn. A higher education, sadly, is not free, but an important step for many people like me and I plan to do my best to get through it financially. If I can help a few athletes, kids, or even returning soldiers it will all be worth it.
