Every person’s goal should be to earn their living doing what they love. This is my path to a successful career and healthy life. My passion lies in the visual astonishment of photography. Ultimately, I desire to reach the fashion realm with enough credit to breach fashion photography past preset fashion model expectations.
Thus far in my journey to earning a living while loving what I do, I am majoring in Studio Photography at Georgia State University. Outside of school, I photograph anyone who comes along. Two friends of mine opened a modeling school entitled the Stampede School of Modeling with the aim to take in models of all types, allowing them to harness and improve their talent. They have invited me onto the team as the official school photographer; my first step into the fashion world to spread fashion past size zero.
Being in school for photography has broadened my horizons to the complexities and history of the photo. Completing the major with honors is my current goal.
Beyond school, I expect to start a magazine for the art of fashion photographers who look beyond the American model cookie cutter. There is so much beauty in the world that doesn’t fit into the guidelines of contemporary fashion.
Part of making it into the photography business is making a name for oneself; once I accomplish that, I can influence those with low self-esteem to believe in their beauty, all through my photography. All in the meantime, I love the labor.
