Eight years ago if someone asked me what I wanted to do for a living I would have had no idea. Today I can say logistics is my dream job. I have worked as a Logistician in the Marine Corps for seven years, and never had a job so challenging and so interesting before in my life. Logistics is a field that is always changing, always moving, and always interesting. What is a Logisitican? In my opinion a logistician is a person who is in charge of moving cargo, equipment, and personnel from the point and place of embarkation to the point and place of debarkation by all means of transportation.
My dream job is to work upper management logistics for a large company. The Marines Corps has taught me how to understand logistics on both the small scale as well as big picture. Working upper management logistics for a company I would not only be able to utilize my expertise to increase the transportation efficiency for the company but help implement the new technology that would revolutionize the logistics community. The technology that is currently under development could not only reduce the use of fossil fuels needed by the vehicles but could increase overall transport speed while increasing driver safety.
Overall I love logistics and hope to not only be a logisitician for a big company but do it in order to help the world move its cargo in a fast way while being economically and ecologically friendly.
