When people think of doing something they love, they never describe it as a job. After all, if it was an enjoyable activity, it would not be work at all. For this reason, I consider myself to be a lucky individual. I have been given the opportunity to make a living doing what I love most through my career as a firefighter.
Firefighting is an extremely rewarding career for a number of reasons. The most important of these is the opportunity to help people on a daily basis. The primary goal of a firefighter is to protect lives and property from any dangers created by either man or nature. As one can imagine, this covers a very broad spectrum of services that firefighters must be able to have at their disposal at any given point in time.
With all this being said, there is still a question of how the world can be changed through a career as a firefighter. The answer is very simple, which is to help each person to the best of your abilities when called upon. It is obvious that one person cannot change the entire world by themselves, so this person must take advantage of the chain reaction that occurs when services are rendered for their care. My goal is to make a lasting impression on everyone I come into contact with, so that they will be given the desire to help others in the same way. That is how you change the world.
