All of my life I have struggled with obesity. I have been on countless diets and done so many different exercise routines I cannot even remember all of them. Like most people, I’ve had my ups and downs with weight gain. One year I’m just overweight and the next I’m obese. However, through my struggle I have found that I truly love exercising and eating healthy. Don’t get me wrong I have my cheat days every once in a while but being healthy is my number one goal. People look at you and treat you differently if you are overweight. For children specifically in middle school and high school this can be an extremely tough time. Bullying is rampant in our society these days and obese children are some of the number one targets. Words other children say can be hurtful and can completely crush other’s self-esteem. My dream would be to go around the country and speak to children in different middle schools and high schools to raise awareness about the effects of obesity and bullying. Hopefully my talks would be able to reach out to these children and influence them in a way that could change their lives. I wake up everyday and try to do what is best for my body and myself, being skinny and beautiful is not my number one goal anymore and I feel liberated. My dream is that children cross the country can feel this liberation also.
