If I could earn a living doing what I love most I would be a math teacher and a girls varsity basketball coach. I dream one day to form my students into strong leaders. My goal is to teach my students how to think. As Confucius once said “to learn without thinking is fruitless. To think without learning is dangerous.” Once they learn how to think they will go out and become the leaders of society because they are not going to blindly accept everything they are told and will be able to make strong decisions for themselves.
Being a basketball coach would be a second means to forming strong leaders. Basketball is so much more than teaching an athlete how to score a basket, it is about teamwork, hard work, discipline, commitment, responsibility, winning and losing as a team. In a world were many teenage girls find themselves in very stressful, emotional or difficult situations, they can find what they are lacking in their lives in their team. My goal as a basketball coach is to accompany my girls, to be a good example for them, help them form good habits (punctuality, hard work ethic, accountability etc.) to help them succeed on and off the court and giver them something to be proud of, a place they belong.
By these two occupations I would change the world by forming leaders who will lead in whatever area they decide to pursue.
