If I could do anything in the world, paid or not, I would teach anyone and everyone how to love learning. As a university professor, I realize that I can achieve my dreams. My professors themselves have shown me how infectious one’s enthusiasm for a subject can be in a classroom. Even in classes of one hundred and twenty-five students, it is possible to engage every single one in a class with enough passion for learning and joy.

I realize that I too, given a class of students, could spread the exhilaration I feel when I find that I can connect ideas and theories and explain them. I love to share knowledge and I love to gather it, and I believe that even the most grudging student can learn to enjoy learning, if only they were given faculty who were willing to help and provide information in ways that allow multiple learning styles to flourish.

Becoming a professor is a very obtainable goal. I currently am finishing up my BA, and I’m finding and applying to doctoral programs to gain research and teaching experience alongside my PhD. My next goals to accomplish my dream are to complete my PhD in four years and to find a teaching position in which I am able to begin teaching the rewards of learning to my students. I believe, with diligence and hard work, I will be able to achieve my goal within the next six years, and begin to change the world.
