Everyone either learns from experience or learns from example. If I could make a living being a public speaker, I would share my story with people everywhere so they could learn from my mistakes. When I was in high school, I had an eating disorder. I would starve myself for days in hopes to lose weight, even though I was nowhere near overweight. I realized that I was sickly and unhappy (probably because I hadn’t had chocolate in over 6 months). I was mutilating my body and decided to eat again. My dream is to tell this story to other people, and no matter what their shape or size, they are beautiful. I want people to learn from my mistakes and not make their own.Too many young girls have poor self image because society tells them they need to be a skinny, perfect, blonde girl in order to be pretty. I know my responsibility is to talk to these girls and tell them how marvelous they are, and that taking unhealthy risks against your body never ends well. I am majoring in communications and giving my testimony at church camps in order to get my story told to people who need to hear it. Even if I only help two people, my dream will be fulfilled. No one needs to be upset when they were made just the way they should be. Audrey Hepburn said, “Happy girls are the prettiest ” and that is what I want to tell everyone.
