My sister always dreaded when I came home from school and saw my backpack was larger than when I left. She knew that this could only mean that I brought home extra worksheets to “play” teacher for a couple hours, and as always, she was the student. It did not occur to me then that my fascination with retaining and sharing knowledge would one day lead to the decision of becoming an elementary school teacher.
I feel as though receiving the TakeLessons Scholarship would help tremendously with my journey through college and also give me the confidence to further pursue a teaching career. After I graduate, my dream is to open a school for children at risks where they are able to flourish in a comforting setting. With the generous help of the TakeLessons Scholarship I will be able to educate students to come, and hopefully, influence another individual to pursue a career in education.
