A social worker’s primary duty is to aid people with challenges in their lives; whether it’s with family issues, illnesses, addiction, child abuse, problems in a community, etc. There are a wide range of situations where a social worker is needed in order for everyone to get the care and attention they need. In any case, a career in social work is an ideal life choice and profession for someone like me. I personally am a huge advocate for helping people with life and social issues in which they feel as if there is no way out of their particular situation. With my experiences helping people with their difficulties, I have learned that I want to do this on a broader spectrum. I want to travel the globe and help people from all walks of life cope with their issues. My work will explicitly cause a domino effect. By helping people and encouraging those to do the same will help give others the enthusiasm to continue the trend. Causing people, as well as myself, to visit third world countries and help the less fortunate cope with or overcome their tribulations. The world will be a better place when people go out of their way to help others, no matter how small the situation may be. My goal for achieving that dream and living it day by day would be to continue helping people and hope for them to realize that helping others is just as rewarding as receiving it ourselves.
