In a perfect world, my dream is to be a researcher who works on the development of new pharmaceuticals. Even if I don’t end up making loads of money, I will sleep sound with the knowledge that the work I dedicate my life to will help anywhere from thousands to millions of people world-wide by providing them a remedy to any ailment they may possess. By making other people’s lives a little bit easier, I feel like my own life has purpose and I can keep a clean conscience.
In order to attain this “dream” position, I plan on working my way up from the bottom, as all other great scientists have had to do at some point in time. During my time at the University of Central Florida as an undergraduate, I am going to strive to maintain a high GPA as well as participate extensively in research groups around campus. By performing these two processes, I will make myself an attractive candidate for graduate school at whatever university I choose in the future.
After I finally establish myself as a competent researcher, I will work with my colleagues in order to develop new drugs and treatments to cure various maladies and disorders. It is my hope that my work will benefit not only me in terms of salary and supporting my lifestyle, but also people around the world, whether they be known to me or complete strangers. This altruistic work is what I am most interested in pursuing.
