Massage therapy is an important part of my passions in life. Helping others relax mentally, physically, and spiritually, I believe that this trinity is important to keep balanced in order to stay healthy or help with unhealthy conditions that life throws at us. I want to be able to help others in my community. I believe that massage therapy is one of the many doors that can be opened to help and to give others and myself a better and happier life.
I want to incorporate massage therapy into my other passion, Wing Tsun kung fu. This style of kung fu focuses on relaxing the mind and body, based on ideas and concepts, using only the muscles that are needed to perform through relaxation. Being able to flow like a dance. Teaching people to truly take control of their body and mind, will help them to build confidence for everyday life.

I love people and I want to give all I can to the ones that need and are seeking help. I want to take care of my mother and make her proud of me. I am focused and ready to make a difference. This is why I am applying for a scholarship. It’s not just for me, it’s for everyone I come in contact with. I will also be able to further my education, to dive deeper in massage therapy and yes, Wing Tsun kung fu. This scholarship will help make my two passions a whole.
Sincerely,
Tyler Thompson
