A favorite rapper of mine, Joey Bada$$ said that you live you learn, you die you teach. Though lyrically genius, this statement is wrong. You live and you learn and you teach. The lack of knowledge is humanity’s number one killer. Throughout the world, the lack of education leads to high infant mortality rates, disease spread, and even violence. After earning my major in biology and my minor in philosophy I hope to educate the people not only through my words and writings but through my hands on involvement in epidemic studies and immunology. Instead of being paid solely in money, I would prefer to earn a sense of accomplishment as well as hope for society. My first goal is to educate myself because a helping soul cannot help unless he knows what he is doing. I can’t fathom the extent to which I will help but I know that an education can do nothing but increase the scope of my outreach. Knowing this, I want to become an immunologist and eventually share my intellectual experiences with others. My second goal is to make sure that everyone I influence, is equipped with the knowledge to contest ignorance and it’s deadly consequences whether it be discrimination or illnesses.
