I am blessed in that I am already doing what I love. I work with students with autism and emotional behaviors in a school setting. Being a part of an individual’s success nullifies any personal stress I may be having in my life. With the help of therapists, teachers and other staff members, we all contribute to our students becoming more independent and confident.
Attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences will enable me to become a counselor for families struggling with tough decisions about their child’s care as well as determining how best to serve the child and family’s needs to improve all of their lives. Utilizing an online college makes it easier to get an education while still having a job, raising kids, keeping a house and trying to have a life. Working in my chosen field helps me stay up-to-date on trainings, changes in behavioral care, and gain experience at the same time. Everything that I’ve learned and am still learning comes from each and every student. They are my inspiration and developing their curriculum while inventing creative ways to help them learn are my daily challenge. It doesn’t change the world but it changed me.
