The question presented is, “If you could change the world and earn a living doing what you love most – what would it be…..?” I firmly believe that I not only could, I CAN change the world doing what I love the most. Even better, I AM changing the world doing what I love the most – simply because I believe the way to change the world is one day at a time, one person at a time, one story at a time. The challenge I give myself is…How can I do it better? I work for an outreach in Sherman, TX,(Four Rivers Outreach) that helps people with mental and addiction problems. In May, I received my Associates Degree in Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counseling, plus my certificate of license from Grayson County College, Denison TX. Currently, I am enrolled at Texas A&M Commerce for the fall semester, working towards a degree in Social Work. The work I am doing now is helping people by encouraging them in recovery from drugs or alcohol, finding them jobs, and helping them with their education needs. I will keep doing what I’m doing, but pursuing this degree in Social Work will simply allow me to do it better….one day at a time, one person at a time, one story at a time.
