How often do you have a song stuck in your head? Once a day perhaps, or maybe you are like me and are a human juke box. My love for music started when I was in the fourth grade when I picked up the saxophone.
Since then I see the effects music has on everything, from something as simple as a heartbeat to a Mahler Symphony. I am in training to become a music teacher, which is hard and expensive work, but I’m not getting into it for the money. If I could effect one kid the way my music teacher effected me, my job, and hard work would be worth it. Growing up in a single parent house hold I had a lot of time to my self, mostly I filled it with music. Not just one genre, no no no. I listened to every thing, Beethoven, Wild Cherry, Tone Loc, Steel Drivers, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and so on. This opened my eyes to the world of music. The part I look forward to most about being a teacher is opening a kids eyes seeing the child’s amazement of music and wanting more of it. Music is the most underrated element of life, and I would like to change that by spreading the power of music starting the the future of our nation, the children.
