“Buzz … Buzz … Buzz …” I looked over, my phone was vibrating because Destiny was calling. “Hello” I said, but all I heard was her crying. “What’s wrong, hello … Destiny, are you okay?” I said. “He gave me Chlamydia” she said. “Swear to God, he what?” I responded. “He gave me Chlamydia, I went to get a pap smear last week and my doctor just called and told me I had it. I can’t believe him; bad things always happen to the good people who don’t deserve it!” She kept crying I was so speechless that I started to cry for her. I felt so bad that happened to her; I realized that anything can happen to anybody. Nobody is exempt from having health problems. From that moment on I realized that If it wasn’t for her doctor calling her she would’ve never knew she had that disease. That’s why it’s so important that I succeed in the medical field. There are a lot of people like Destiny who needs help. Who need that phone call from a doctor? Who need to know what’s really going on because they have no clue?
I plan on being that nurse or doctor who cares about people health. Destiny’s story inspired me to want to help people with the same story she has. I’m striving to have some type of relation to helping people and making them feel better. My ideal goal is to be a nurse. I refuse to feel that I can’t help the most. I’ll make it my business to go home every night knowing that I helped someone who has the same story as Destiny.
