I have always been obsessed with history, and recently I have decided to try to be become a history or art museum curator. I know it will be hard to reach this goal because there is a large amount of competition and people with Masters and Doctoral degrees who are published in journals are given these honors. However, I know this is what I want to do and I will not stop until I reach it. I know most people do not see working in museums as a way to change the world, but I do not believe they have truly experienced a museum. They are full of stories; these stories are people’s lives, their passions, their fears. Being able to show just one kid around a gallery who is passionate about preserving these stories as much I am is akin to changing the world because I am changing that kid’s world, and they will go on to change another person’s world. I will will begin by pursuing History and Art History in college and most likely go back to school to receive a Master’s in Museum Studies. I will start wherever I can and work as hard as I can to make my way to curator and change the world.
