If I were to earn a living doing what I love the most, I would be the creator and director of my own cartoon. Most people would sit back and laugh at the idea that a cartoon would be of any importance to anyone. However, I believe that there is an importance.
From the moment a child is born, he or she is learning things from the world around them, both physically and mentally. Therefore, when a cartoon is shown to kids that is teaching them the wrong lessons, they are going to take those subliminal messages to heart because they would think that what is portrayed on that glass screen is the right thing to do. I believe in doing a cartoon that teaches good morals and helps kids become better role models and have a more well-rounded personality, yet also be just as entertaining as all the hilariously wacky stuff out there today. These kids are the future, and what they watch is going to affect how they will rule the world.
To do such an accomplishment, I am working on a degree in the Arts at Western Kentucky University, with a major in film and a minor in creative writing. I believe this will help enhance my creativity so that I can create a wonderful new world for kids to get sucked into; something that kids love. This way, they will be learning the hidden messages they need to help make the world a better place.
