If I could earn a living doing what I love most, it would be derived from a career in the human services field. Human services workers are those ready to lend a helping hand to people struggling with life’s myriad obstacles, and who are working to better understand the human condition. From advocates to counselors to psychologists, human service careers are perfect for people like me who are at best when helping others. Within this field I can provide effective services to individuals and families in need, helping them to improve their quality of life and gain self-efficacy. My experiences throughout life awoke a passion within me to seek a career in helping others. I believe that a career in my field promotes social supports, assists in maintaining the safety of the environment, helps others to cope with situations, keeping people positively engaged, encouraging helpful behaviors and influencing them to set and accomplish their goals. By providing people with the education and resources needed to aid them in leading productive and successful lives, the world or a certain degree of it will be affected by the examples of people willing to stop at nothing to improve the lives of themselves and others leading to a more empathetic place to live. Through my combined passions for education and helping others, I foresee a bright future in the human services field. Without a college degree it would be impossible to skillfully, effectively, and professionally provide exceptional services to help those in need.
