If I could earn a living doing what I love the most, my goal is to start my own Community Youth Center.
In order to make this dream a reality I would have to work towards finding funds grants, and perhaps a business loan to open the center. I am currently work toward getting my Business Degree which will teach me how to run my own buisness. I would open one in the Englewood community, for youth ages 13 thru 21. I enjoy working with kids and I believe this community center could help save some of our children ‘lives by giving them an opportunity and a place to go. This community center would be a place for our youth to come to learn, fellowship, become leaders and enjoy activities together as a family. In todays society majority of the household are being raised by single parents with one income and this is partially why our youths are out of control because there is no structure and discipline. As a teenager my community didn’t have much to offer. My parents couldn’t afford the expensive summer camp programs. I believe by offering a youth community center that can be funded by grants and small membership fees it can help to keep some of the youths off the streets. I first would offer summer employment to the kids ages 16 and up to mentor the younger kids. Implement leadership programs, have family night and prayer, tutor programs, and provide a place where school work could be done . Provide an in door basket ball court which would be used to
teach the youths about respect, self control, and making good choices. I know I could earn a living doing so many other things with my life but I feel I could be of some value by helping others, and building leaders.
I’m aspiring to build up my community by helping our next generation to become greater leaders and to make better choices.
