If I could earn a living doing what I love most, I would have to say that it would involve helping children, adolescents and adults that have been victims of abuse overcome their tragedies and understand that their past does not have to dictate their future. To accomplish this I would complete my BA in Psychology, and began an internship that will allow me to gain the hands on knowledge and involvement with patients that have suffered from problems of abuse. Following completion of my bachelor’s degree, I intend to complete a master’s program in Psychology, and finally my PhD in Clinical Psychology. I believe it is my purpose in life to help those that come from a background of abuse, no matter what their age. Helping people understand their potential and how to overcome their struggles despite the problems that have held them back, is important because it allows people to realize that they to have a purpose and the abuse is not at all their fault and should be their motivation to be the best that they can be. In terms of changing the world, I believe that if I can appeal to a mass of people who have suffered at the hands of some type of abuse, then their testimony of overcoming the abuse will in turn help someone else. Victims of abuse need to know that there are people who care and want to help them. My purpose in life is to help them see that.
